Vintage White Necked Goose Bags

A little something from the JustRightGraphics store. Click to customize and buy.

This guy is keeping a sharp eye out, ready to jump in the water in case of danger. Beautiful, sleek, black head with a brown and white body. His black webbed fee rest on soft, fuzzy moss which border a cool blue lake. Illustrated by a guy who loved and understood birds -- American ornithologist John Cassin. This painting is titled White Neck Goose and was issued as a lithograph during the Victorian era. The cream, aged background evokes days-gone-by. Why is it called a white necked goose, when most of its neck is black?
